Start using LawY straight away, no storage connection needed

Summary

You can now create a matter in LawY without connecting document storage first. Until now, creating a matter in LawY began by connecting OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox or Google Drive. That remains a valuable option for firms that want to work with documents directly from their existing systems. Instant Start gives you another way in. Choose "Skip and use LawY's storage instead," create your matter, and it's ready immediately so you can ask your first question in minutes.

Get to real legal work sooner

Instant Start shortens the path between signing up and seeing what LawY can do.

You can create a matter, work with a document, and get your first grounded answer in minutes. It also gives firms more flexibility to introduce LawY to their teams while deciding how it will fit within their broader systems and processes.

A more seamless start for Word users

If you’re primarily interested in LawY’s Word add-in, you can move into that workflow with fewer setup steps.

Create your matter using LawY’s storage, then begin reviewing and working with your document in Word. The connected experience remains available whenever it suits your firm.

Start with the work you have

Some matters begin with a document. Others begin with a question.

Add a file to the matter chat when you want LawY to work from its contents. If there’s no document yet, start your legal research using the matter type and region, then add files as the matter develops.

Stay in control of what is saved

Lawyers are careful about where documents live, so we made control the default.

Documents uploaded to LawY’s storage are session-based. They only become permanent when you choose to save them to the matter or your firm’s connected storage. Saving is a choice you make, not something that happens automatically.

If a file already exists in a storage provider you connect later, LawY recognises and uses the existing document rather than uploading another copy.

Fewer steps to your first answer. More choice in how LawY fits into your work.
